Writing is hard work and bad for the health. A problem is a chance for you to do your best. There's no point in being grown up if you can't be childish sometimes. Courage is doing what you're afraid to do. There can be no courage unless you're scared. Other people do not have to change for us to experience peace of mind. I am a writer who came of a sheltered life. A sheltered life can be a daring life as well. For all serious daring starts from within. I think you must remember that a writer is a simple-minded person to begin with and go on that basis. He's not a great mind, he's not a great thinker, he's not a great philosopher, he's a story-teller. Life is a mirror and will reflect back to the thinker what he thinks into it. When I get a little money I buy books; and if any is left I buy food and clothes. It makes no difference how deeply seated may be the trouble, how hopeless the outlook how muddled the tangle, how great the mistake. A sufficient realization of love will dissolve it all. |
