Technology... the knack of so arranging the world that we don't have to experience it. Why are we surprised when politicians play politics? It's not like they are supposed to be real adults... they are, after all, politicians and don't have real jobs and aren't playing around with their money. Cynics are made, not born. Seek not to follow in the footsteps of men of old; seek what they sought. The dance is a poem of which each movement is a world. The nicest thing about standards is that there are so many of them to choose from. When in doubt, predict that the present trend will continue. Never keep up with the Joneses. Drag them down to your level. Never put off until tomorrow what you can do the day after tomorrow. Politics are a lousy way for a free man to get things done. Politics are, like God's infinite mercy, a last resort. |
