You gotta have a dream. If you don't have a dream, how you gonna make a dream come true? Sometimes being a friend means mastering the art of timing. There is a time for silence. A time to let go and allow people to hurl themselves into their own destiny. And a time to prepare to pick up the pieces when it is all over. It's better to have a rich soul than to be rich. Beginning today, treat everyone you meet as if they were going to be dead by midnight. Extend to them all the care, kindness, and understanding you can muster, and do it with no thought of any reward. Your life will never be the same again. Goals are simply tools to focus your energy in positive directions, these can be changed as your priorities change, new one added, and others dropped. The greatest weakness of most humans is their hesitancy to tell others how much they love them while they're alive. I have come to believe that giving and receiving are really the same. Giving and receiving not giving and taking. Worlds can be found by a child and an adult bending down and looking together under the grass stems or at the skittering crabs in a tidal pool. Any fact facing us is not as important as our attitude toward it, for that determines our success or failure. The way you think about a fact may defeat you before you ever do anything about it. You are overcome by the fact because you think you are. Whatever you do, do it with all your might. Work at it, early and late, in season and out of season, not leaving a stone unturned, and never deferring for a single hour that which can be done just as well now. |
