Fear can keep us up all night long, but faith makes one fine pillow. I cannot give any scientist of any age better advice than this: the intensity of a conviction that a hypothesis is true has no bearing over whether it is true or not. You are not likely to get anywhere in particular if you don't know where you want to go. Faith is a higher faculty than reason. While one person hesitates because he feels inferior, another is busy making mistakes and becoming superior. Success and failure are both difficult to endure. Nature does not give to those who will not spend... Watch your thoughts; they become your words. Watch your words; they become your actions. Watch your actions; they become your habits. Watch your habits; they become your character. Watch your character for it will become your destiny. If I am not for myself, who will be for me? If I am only for myself, what am I? And if not now, when? Too many pieces of music finish too long after the end. Commitment means that it is possible for a man to yield the nerve center of his consent to a purpose or cause, a movement or an ideal, which may be more important to him than whether he lives or dies. |
