The permanent temptation of life is to confuse dreams with reality. The permanent defeat of life comes when dreams are surrendered to reality. One reason God created time was so that there would be a place to bury the failures of the past. Much of the vitality in a friendship lies in the honouring of differences, not simply in the enjoyment of similarities. Dream as if you'll live forever. Live as if you'll die today. It is not easy, but you have to be willing to make mistakes. And the earlier you make those mistakes, the better. But who can distinguish between falling in love and imagining falling in love? Even genuinely falling in love is an act of the imagination. If love is such a 'pure' thing, then why do we all have to go through hell to find it? If we don't feel love with our heart, then how come that's where it hurts when someone doesn't love you back? Seven days without laughter make one weak. The meaning of success has changed in a lot of ways for me. I guess I've gone through a period of my life where success might have been fast cars, money... but now, as I get older, I'm learning that success lies within me. |
