Love is the life of our heart. According to it, we desire, rejoice, hope and despair, fear, take heart, hate, avoid things, feel sad, grow angry, and exult. But only in their dreams can men be truly free. Twas always thus, and always thus shall be. You must understand the whole of life, not just one little part of it. That is why you must read, that is why you must look at the skies, that is why you must sing, and dance, and write poems, and suffer, and understand, for all that is life. When someone you love dies, treasure the time you spent with them. Even if you only knew them for a little while, it was better than not knowing them at all. Alcohol is the cause and the solution to many of life's problems. Tell me who you love and I'll tell you who you are. Friends are God’s apology for relations. One day at a time--this is enough. Do not look back and grieve over the past for it is gone; and do not be troubled about the future, for it has not yet come. Live in the present, and make it so beautiful it will be worth remembering. So we must love while these moments are still called today, take part in the pain of this passion play, stretching our youth as we must, until we are ashes to dust, until time makes history of us. Love is the extremely difficult realization that something other than oneself is real. |
