Logic is a poor guide compared with custom. The greatest lesson in life is to know that even fools are right sometimes. When the eagles are silent, the parrots begin to jabber. We shall neither fail nor falter; we shall not weaken or tire...give us the tools and we will finish the job. They say that nobody is perfect. Then they tell you practice makes perfect. I wish they'd make up their minds. There is no such thing as public opinion. There is only published opinion. There is no limit to the ingenuity of man if it is properly and vigorously applied under conditions of peace and justice. The truth is incontrovertible. Malice may attack it and ignorance may deride it, but in the end, there it is. No one can guarantee success in war, but only deserve it. The Navy can lose us the war, but only the Air Force can win it. The fighters are our salvation, but the bombers alone provide the means of victory. |
