The ear that heareth the reproof of life abideth among the wise (Proverbs 15:31). The fear of man bringeth a snare: but whoso putteth his trust in the Lord shall be safe. (Proverbs 29:25) The fear of the LORD is a fountain of life, to depart from the snares of death (Proverbs 14:27). The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom (Psalms 111:10). The fear of the LORD tendeth to life: and he that hath it shall abide satisfied; he shall not be visited with evil (Proverbs 19:23). Shew thy marvellous loving kindness, O thou that savest by thy right hand them which put their trust in thee from those that rise up against them. (Psalms 17:7) Offer the sacrifices of righteousness, and put your trust in the Lord. (Psalms 4:5) For wisdom is a defence, and money is a defence: but the excellency of knowledge is, that wisdom giveth life to them that have it. Now therefore, O our God, hear the prayer of thy servant, and his supplications, and cause thy face to shine upon thy sanctuary that is desolate, for the Lord's sake. (Daniel 9:17) Now, behold, thou trustest upon the staff of this bruised reed, even upon Egypt, on which if a man lean, it will go into his hand, and pierce it: so is Pharoah king of Egypt unto all that trust on him.
