They that trust in their wealth, and boast themselves in the multitude of their riches. (Psalms 49:6) Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life (John 8:12). Thou hast granted me life and favour, and thy visitation hath preserved my spirit (Job 10:12). Thou sayest, (but they are but vain words), I have counsel and strength for the war. Now on whom dost thou trust, that thou rebellest against me? (2 Kings 18:20) Thou shalt make thy prayer unto him, and he shall hear thee, and thou shalt pay thy vows. (Job 22:27) Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee. (Isaiah 26:3) Thou wilt show me the path of life: in thy presence is fullness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore (Psalms 16:11). Though he slay me, I shall yet trust Him. Though he slay me, yet will I trust in Him: but I will maintain mine own ways before Him.
