Though I were perfect, yet would I not know my soul: I would despise my life (Job 9:21). Through wisdom is a house built; and by understanding it is established; and by knowledge shall every room be filled with precious and pleasant riches. Thus saith the Lord; Cursed be the man that trusteth in man, and maketh flesh his arm, and whose heart departeth from the Lord. (Jeremiah 17:5) To have faith is to be sure of the things we hope for, to be certain of the things we cannot see. It was by their faith that people of ancient times won God's approval. (Hebrews 11:1-2) Trust in him at all times; ye people, pour out your heart before him: God is a refuge for us. (Psalms 62:8) They that trust in the Lord shall be as Mount Zion, which cannot be removed, but abideth for ever. (Psalms 125:1) The Lord redeemeth the soul of his servants: and none of them that trust in him shall be desolate. (Psalms 34:22) Now she that is a widow indeed, and desolate, trusteth in God, and continueth in supplications and prayers night and day. (1 Timothy 5:5) The God of my rock; in him will I trust: he is my shield, and the horn of my salvation, my high tower, and my refuge, my saviour; thou savest me from violence. (2 Samuel 22:3) The heart of her husband doth safely trust in her, so that he shall have no need of spoil. (Proverbs 31:11) |
