The hope of the righteous shall be gladness: but the expectation of the wicked shall perish. (Proverbs 10:28) The law of the wise is a fountain of life, to depart from the snares of death (Proverbs 13:14). The LORD also shall roar out of Zion, and utter his voice from Jerusalem; and the heavens and the earth shall shake: but the LORD will be the hope of his people, and the strength of the children of Israel (Joel 3:16). The Lord giveth and the Lord hath taken away, blessed be the name of the Lord. (Job 1:21) The LORD hath heard my supplication; the LORD will receive my prayer. (Psalms 6:9) The LORD is far from the wicked: but he heareth the prayer of the righteous. (Proverbs 15:29) The Lord is good, a strong hold in the day of trouble; and he knoweth them that trust in him. (Nahum 1:7) The LORD is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the LORD is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid (Psalms 27:1)? The Lord is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my strength, in whom I will trust; my buckler, and the horn of my salvation, and my high tower. (Psalms 18:2) Then what prayer or what supplication soever shall be made of any man, or of all thy people Israel, when every one shall know his own sore and his own grief, and shall spread forth his hands in this house.
