As the purse is emptied the heart is filled. Have courage for the great sorrows of life and patience for the small ones; and when you have laboriously accomplished your daily task, go to sleep in peace. God is awake. A man is not idle because he is absorbed in thought. There is visible labour and there is invisible labour. I had a dream my life would be different from this hell I am living, so different from what it seemed. Now life has killed the dream I dreamed. In this world, which is so plainly the antechamber of another, there are no happy men. The true division of humanity is between those who live in light and those who live in darkness. Our aim must be to diminish the number of the latter and increase the number of the former. That is why we demand education and knowledge. Great perils have this beauty, that they bring to light the fraternity of strangers. Initiative is doing the right thing without being told. A compliment is something like a kiss through a veil. Liberation is not deliverance. There is no such thing as a little country. The greatness of a people is no more determined by their numbers than the greatness of a man is by his height |
