While you're saving your face, you're losing your ass. Happy is he who can give himself up. Maybe he's only a little bit crazy, like painters, or composers, or some of those men in Washington. Experience is something you don't get until just after you need it. Oh, I don't blame Congress. If I had $600 billion at my disposal, I'd be irresponsible, too. Sometimes you have to get to know someone really well to realize you're really strangers. The trail is the thing, not the end of the trail. Travel too fast and you miss all you are traveling for. There's a bit of magic in everything, and some loss to even things out. You're never as good as everyone tells you when you win, and you're never as bad as they say when you lose. Fame comes only when deserved, and then is as inevitable as destiny, for it is destiny. |
