Love is always patient and kind; it is never jealous, love is never boastful or conceited; it is never rude or selfish; it does not take offense, and is not resentful. Love takes no pleasure in other people’s sins but delights in the truth; it is always ready to excuse, to trust, to hope, and to endure whatever comes. Love does not come to an end. As a man thinks in his heart, so is he. [Proverbs 23:7] And they that know thy name will put their trust in thee: for thou, Lord, hast not forsaken them that seek thee. (Psalms 9:10) And they were helped against them, and the Hagarites were delivered into their hand, and all that were with them: for they cried to God in the battle, and he was intreated of them; because they put their trust in him. (1 Chronicles 5:20) And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son (1 John 5:11). And this is the will of him that sent me, that every one which seeth the Son, and believeth on him, may have everlasting life: and I will raise him up at the last day (John 6:40). And thou shalt be secure, because there is hope; yea, thou shalt dig about thee, and thou shalt take thy rest in safety (Job 11:18). And thus consider ye throughout all ages, that none that put their trust in him shall be overcome. And what does the lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God (Micah 6:8). And when he had taken the book, the four beasts and four and twenty elders fell down before the Lamb, having every one of them harps, and golden vials full of odours, which are the prayers of saints.
