Unto whomsoever much is given, of him shall much be required. (Luke 12:48) Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life (John 5:24). We also boast of our troubles, because we know that trouble produces endurance, endurance brings God's approval, and His approval brings hope (Romans 3:4-5). Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye devour widows' houses, and for a pretence make long prayer: therefore ye shall receive the greater damnation. (Matthew 23:14) He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler. (Psalms 91:4) Marvel not at the works of sinners; but trust in the Lord, and abide in thy labour: for it is an easy thing in the sight of the Lord on the sudden to make a poor man rich. Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom; and with all your getting get understanding. Let my prayer come before thee: incline thine ear unto my cry. (Psalms 88:2) Let not him that is deceived trust in vanity: for vanity shall be his recompence. (Job 15:31) Let the morning bring me word of your unfailing love, for I have put my trust in you. Show me the way I should go, for to you I lift up my soul (Psalm 143:8). |
